Volunteers
are the lifeblood of the Gwili Railway. As well as preserving
a valuable part of our Welsh railway heritage, their work gives
pleasure to tens of thousands of our visitors every year.
Who are our volunteers? They are of all ages – from students to the retired –
and from a wide range of social and occupational backgrounds.
There is more to a railway than just running trains. Our volunteers lend support
in many other ways - maintenance of rolling stock and buildings, tracklaying,
catering, shop & ticket sales, publicity, fund-raising and planning for the
future.
So why not join our successful team? No special skills are required and whether
you can offer regular help or just one day a year you will always be welcome.
We do provide free training should you wish to acquire a new specialism, such
as footplate, guard or signalman duties.
If you would like further information, please contact our New Volunteer Liaison
Officer, Geoff Richards, by telephone 01267-236291 or by e-mail volunteer@gr-ps.org.uk.
Alternatively, you can download and send in an application form to join the Gwili
Railway Preservation Society and we will then contact you to arrange an introduction
to our railway.
We look forward to hearing from you! |
